The crew from
Chime Lodge, some guests and local fly anglers came together at the famous Ruca Hueney restaurant in
Junin, Argentina in the state of Neuquen. Known for decades to local, national and international fly fishers as the best place to eat and drink fine wines after a day on the Chimehuen River. We had an entire lamb - carna asado style - and other delectable treats from the 12 foot wood fired grill. Junin is well known for other things, like supermodel
Yesica Toscanini , wooly mammoth fossils, heavyweight contender
Luis Angel Firpo - the Wild Bull of the Pampas - who sent Jack Dempsey through the ropes in 1923, Tour de France rider Juan Antonio Flecha, Maria Eva Duarte who is better known as
Evita Peron, a former first lady of Argentina and Junin was the site of a world championship gliding competition. And, some world class fly fishing.
